Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2, 2020
Bitbolide Inc. values its users' privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we define, gather, and use information, such as your username, email address, and other information or contact details you provide, when using our services. We are committed to protecting the privacy of visitors and subscribers to our website, users registered to use our services, and customers who contact us by phone, email, or the form on our website.
This Privacy Policy may evolve as we develop our services. We encourage users to check back for updates; the latest revision date is shown above as "Last Updated." Questions or concerns can be sent to support@bitbolide.com.
Collecting Information
1. Personal information: To use our service, you register and create an account, which requires your first/last name, email address, location, and IP address. This information is stored and can be accessed to identify individuals.
2. System usage: We automatically collect IP address, timestamps, and URLs to improve user experience, service quality, and server development. For students, our servers record system usage, assignments and tests, login attempts and activities, course registration, and may provide this to instructors for evaluation, attendance, and academic integrity purposes.
3. Payment information: We collect only identification data and order details to match users to payments; we do not collect credit card information. A third-party vendor collects payment information subject to their own privacy policy (see Stripe's Privacy Policy).
4. Use of information: We may use your personal information to enable purchases and access, improve and develop our service, customize your experience, detect and protect against fraud, and provide technical support. We use your email for system emails you cannot opt out of while using our services (you may suspend your account via support@bitbolide.com). We use IP addresses to validate institutional users for marking and evaluation, and to estimate visitor regions. We also collect non-personal academic data (session times, number of sessions, question responses, browser/OS) for statistical analysis of student and class performance. We do not share this information with any third party at any time.
5. Biometric information: We may request biometric information to verify your identity before taking a test. This is requested once and stored securely, and is removed from our servers at the end of the semester. We do not share or sell this information to any third party.
6. Secured Assessment: In secured assessments, we record video and audio, processed in real time and after the test. Flagged incidents are kept and reported to the test author; all other records are removed from our servers immediately after the test. We do not share or sell this information to any third party while in our possession.

Bitbolide stores and processes personal information on servers located in the United States, using reasonable administrative, physical, and electrical security measures. Only certain employees have access to personal information, and all have signed non-disclosure agreements.

For Canadian residents, this Privacy Policy complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) requirements.
